I'm always trying to make "junk food" a bit healthier for my little boy because I think it would be really sad no to let him enjoy all the "yummy food" all little ones love so much just because it is not healthy; I grew up eating those things too and I'm ok (I am!!); but if there is a way to make those great things a little bit healthier for him why not give it a try?
We all loved french fries once (come on admit it, no one will know!) until they became "no-no" food, then we hated them but secretly really still loved them. These fries (which are not really fried) are a healthier version of normal fries and believe me, once you taste them you won't go back to the greasy, saggy ones!!
Ingredients:
- 3 medium potatoes
- 1 1/2 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1/4 teaspoon Dried Thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1/8 teaspoon Dried Rosemary
- 1/4 teaspoon of Garlic Powder
- 2 tablespoons Parmesan Cheese, grated
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 220°C.
- Wash and cut potatoes into medium thick slices.
- Place on a cookie sheet that has been lined with foil.
- Mix all of the spices and the parmesan cheese in a small bowl.
- Place all of the potatoes into a big freezer bag, add olive oil and the parmesan cheese/spice mixture to the bag. Seal the bag and shake until the potatoes are evenly coated.
- Once coated dump onto the prepared cookie sheet and spread in a single layer.
- Bake 30-45 minutes or until tender and lightly golden brown.
