Dutch Spinach Stamppot

This has to be without a doubt the easiest dish anyone can make, a few potatoes, left over veggies and Smoked Sausage: The Dutch sure know how to keep it simple!
This is one of the traditional winter-time Dutch dishes, it can be made with pretty much any potato/veggie combination (great way to make kids eat their veggies!) and if no Smoked Sausage comes your way you can add some meat balls instead, quite simple!

Ingredients:
  • 500g peeled cooked potatoes
  • 500g washed spinach
  • 15g butter
  • 100g bacon
  • 1dl milk
  • 75g rasped cheese (any will do)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 smoked sausage in slices

Directions:

  1. Bake the bacon crispy in a pan with the butter.
  2. Add the potatoes to the pan smahing them in the butter-bacon mixture. Salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Stir in the milk, spinach and cheese.
  4. Serve with some sausage slices or a couple of meatballs.
